New release with updated kafka.scala.version

The current release uses: <kafka.scala.version>2.12</kafka.scala.version>

This is causing issues because of the binary compatibility breakage between 2.12 and 2.13.

See this: spring-projects/spring-boot#24621 (comment) for the issue I am facing.

We are unable to run embedded kafka without overhead in configuration because of this.
Could you please bump the version to 2.13 and do a new release.

It would also be good to bump the avro version to the latest as well.
