Kubernetes with balena-engine as Container Runtime

With Kubernetes deprecating Docker soon as the container runtime, is balena-engine still compatible with Kubernetes using the container runtime interface, like:

kubelet --container-runtime remote
kubelet --container-runtime-endpoint /var/run/balena-engine.sock

An old issue was able to use balena-engine as the container runtime #84, but I haven't been successful using the old issue's approach on the new release of Kubernetes.
