The new version of HDT broke questline tracking, so only the start spell and hero is shown, not the 2 intermediate steps.

The questline view was taking advantage of this HDT bug which is now fixed.
I don't know atm if there's a simple equivalent for replicating the old behaviour.

Found a Hunter Hack which at least covers the most heavily used questline atm.

maybe ask hdt to give you a quest advance api???
