The issue originated because IdePix for OLCI copies all raster data nodes from the source product to the target product, except altitude, longitude and latitude (longitude and latitude are copied though, if the source product was read with pixel geo-coding activated).

A general option to copy all raster data nodes from source to target without duplicating the underlying data, i.e.

ProductUtils.copyBand(bandName, getSourceProduct(), getTargetProduct(), true);

makes the use of IdePix (any sensor) in a processing chain much simpler.
