Incorrect indentation after loop with comment #1090
Comments
This was referenced Dec 29, 2016
This problem has become more severe recently, namely since 21fac82. Before that, a statement after the loop would somehow cause correct indentation for the block in question. Now this is no longer the case. So the input for (var i = 0; i < 20; ++i) // loop
if (i % 3) {
console.log(i);
}
console.log("done"); would stay in that form in versions up to 1.6.4, but 1.6.5 would turn it into for (var i = 0; i < 20; ++i) // loop
if (i % 3) {
console.log(i);
}
console.log("done"); |

Description
Having an end-of-line comment on the same line as a loop header appears to break indentation for subsequent lines. This didn't happen with the 1.4 line of code, but apparently got introduced with 1.5. I bisected the problem and identified 035363b as the culprit.
Input and Expected Output
The code looked like this before beautification, and should have looked like this after beautification as well:
Actual Output
The code actually looked like this after beautification:
Steps to Reproduce
I first observed this using the [email protected] npm package.
But I can reproduce this on http://jsbeautifier.org/ right now, with default settings.
