This draft URI standard mentions REST services:

It also mentions resources of type "doc" to retrieve a representation of the resource:

Work out how this relates to the REST guidelines and reconcile any incompatibilities:

Is there overlap between the "doc" resource and REST services?
When to use which type of URI standard
