I have a little request feature for BackInTime about the notification. I am using several king of backup storage devices each configured with a different profile. I think it is a common configuration when having a laptop moving from office to home every day. When the main profile storage device is not available I have a notification error that not backup could be done, but it seems that when a device storage from another profile is missing no notification appear, it silently retry later.
First I think it should behave in the same way for every profiles. Second, I would suggest to not notify at all when a device storage is missing but instead give a notification warning when no backup has been done since an amount of time.
Hope it could help improving BackInTime,
Best.

I second this. I run BIT on a laptop storing backups to an external HD. When at the office, its connected. Otherwise, it is not. On a mac with time machine, backups occur when the backup device is connected and there is no complaint when this is not the case --- it would be nice to have this option.
Is there some way to filter this notification out or an option to disable it?
@butala and @Aurelien- Thank you very much for the report and ideas. There is a new forming maintaining team and we do review all issues. Is this problem still relevant for you or did you find a solution?
