Installing from gnome shell extensions site yields an error. Going into the GNOME extensions app yields the error "timer not defined"

that can't be good...

This error also just appeared for me out of nowhere. Ive been happily running KitchenTimer on Manjaro Gnome 41.x for a month or two. With each update it was fine.
But yesterday, without any update, the timer was running & my laptop happened to screenlock/sleep. I could not wake it & had to power down.
After reboot KItchenTimer was disabled & cant be re-enabled at all. Even complete removal, reboot, reinstall & multiple reboot will not bring it back. Extensions app show Error "Timer Not Defined"

There is a fix, you can apply it yourself: It works for me.
You need to edit the timers.js file as detailed by @freddy-dev (thanks fred!)
You can find that file at ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/[email protected]/timers.js
