Observed on:

  • Samsing Galaxy S9
  • OnePlus 7T
  • iPhone 12
  • Huawai somtheing
  • Redmi Note

This seems to happen on brand new cards only.

There is a technique to make it work - using NFC tool and Erase Tag.

I wonder if we need to run some kind of formatting command before we attempt to program the cards?

There is similar issue found on my side. Reported to telegram chatting room.

  1. Environment
  1. Situation
  • After purchasing, I wrote the card with LNBits Bolt card extension, and wiped using JSON link.
  • I created a lightning wallet on Bolt card wallet app, and connected the app to my hub, and try to connect the card, but it failed. (Most processes were successful while the log showed 'Keys ready to change: no', 'Test CMAC: decrypt with key failed'.
  • I wiped the card using bolt card wallet app by disconnecting procedure, and linked it again with LNBits -> Confirmed that it works fine.
  • I re-wiped the card with LNBits, and rewrite with Bolt card wallet app, and it still shows the same failure log (and does not work).
  • I already tried the trick introduced above - "Erase tag" using NFC tools, but it does not bring any change.

I guess there seems to be some errors in writing procedure of bolt card wallet app on iOS, and hope someone can fix it.
