Description

There is unexpected grey tint in the browser, I couldn't find what is causing it. Highly visible in github code-blocks, the code is barely visible.

Tried turning hardware acceleration off as mentioned in this community question but it did not helped any.

Reproduces how often:

All the time.

Brave version (brave://version info)

Brave: 1.29.81 Chromium: 93.0.4577.82 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Revision: e3a25d9b9e2d0b728e045ec87c0aa4942aa46e4e-refs/branch-heads/4577@{#1237}

Version/Channel Information:

  • Can you reproduce this issue with the current release? Yes
  • Can you reproduce this issue with the beta channel? Not sure
  • Can you reproduce this issue with the nightly channel? Not sure

Other Additional Information:

  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Shields? No
  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Rewards? No
  • Is the issue reproducible on the latest version of Chrome? Partially yes (font issue, but not grey tint)

Miscellaneous Information:

Ran on Void Linux with this build template which basically uses the official pre-built debian releases.

Hi @Animeshz Can you update to 1.32.106 and let us know if you're still seeing the issue. Looks like a font issue too.

Hi @Animeshz. Can you check Chrome to see if you're seeing the same issue? Also wondering if this is a dark mode extension that you have on or if it's github's dark mode that's causing this? Other examples, elsewhere?

@rebron sorry for late reply, the font issue is on google-chrome as well, but the dim-tint effect is only on brave and still persistent in 1.32.106
