I was delighted to find this extension, hoping it would fix the single greatest annoyance for me in Gnome 3. Unfortunately, the mouse pointer does not jump to the new window after Alt-Tab switching. This is between windows in the same workspace, but Alt-Tab from a window in one workspace to a window in another workspace also does not move the pointer to the newly selected window, but leaves it in the same relative position on the new workspace screen, and focuses the window under that pointer location.

My system is Fedora Linux 36 (Workstation), Gnome version 42.2, Windowing System Wayland. Focus-mode is 'sloppy.'
[...~]$ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences focus-mode
'sloppy'

In case there are known or suspected conflicts between extensions, my active gnome shell extensions are: Alt-Tab Move Mouse; Custom Hot Corners - Extended; Extension List; Pidgin IM integration; Remove Alt+Tab Delay V2; Applications Menu; Dash to Dock; Places Status Indicator. I also tried disabling all of those extensions except Alt-Tab Move Mouse, with no change in behavior.

I welcome any suggestions for things to try; especially if I've overlooked a blindingly obvious setting!! Thanks.

Thank you for your reporting!

Hm.. It's weird.
I'll try to make a version with embedded logs, so please wait.

Oh, I reproduced it.

With switch-windows (normally not bound any key), the mouse pointer moves.
With switch-applications (normally bound to <Alt>Tab), the mouse pointer does not move.

I did not seem to notice this issue because I had the following configuration:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-applications ['<Super>Tab']
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-applications-backward ['<Shift><Super>Tab']
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-windows ['<Alt>Tab']
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-windows-backward ['<Shift><Alt>Tab']

Would you try switch-windows?

It will take some time to resolve this issue (developing gnome extensions in Wayland is a bad experience :p).

Thank you for the suggestion. I set my keybindings to match yours, and Alt-Tab now switches windows, and the mouse jumps to the newly selected window. Fantastic! While I do prefer to use the Switch Applications function, with all application windows grouped together, this is so much better, I can be satisfied with this into the indefinite future. Thank you for your efforts to fix one of the many fails (imho) that are found in Gnome 3. I'm grateful to you and the several other extension developers that make a beautiful but underfunctional desktop into something that approaches the utility of the "good old days."
