We want to convince people Hydra is useful. One way could be to show how much money could be saved by using Hydra; one way to do this could be to walk the entire history of L1 transactions and compute the savings that way.
What
The idea would be to look at all the L1 transactions and try and determine which could've been done more readily using the Hydra Head protocol instead.
Supposing we can even work that out, then we could compute the cost difference of running the transactions in the Head protocol instead of on L1.
How
???
Some initial thoughts/tasks:
Work out how to decide if a transaction is between a fixed group of peers
Decide a start/stop point for the transactions?
How to even perform this computation efficiently on the entire history?
