Obsidian lets you edit text in multiple places at the same time using multiple cursors.
When using this feature to highlight multiple sections at once, it replaces each of their contents with those of the last selection:
So it seems to treat each selection as if it was the same. This does not seem to be an issue with Obsidian's multi editing itself, as far as I can tell:
