Description

After working on the security spike card #8, we realized that there was an opportunity to clean up some tech debt.

We'd like to use basic auth headers instead of auth tokens during the API calls.

Moving this to future sprint board only, as we were hoping to have extra time to slide this in as a bonus but it doesn't look like we'll be able to this sprint sadly.
