README could be clearer #19
Comments
I think those are two separate things: Challenges related to learning specific bits on how to do things in GitHub, and the "regular" challenge of commiting every day, or commiting to another project etc. For example, just because we are talking rebasing Friday doesn't mean you are ready to get all rebase crazy. |
@jfrappier good call - maybe we can clarify then. There's the "default" or "original challenge" vs dailies. |
Maybe we call the "dailies" - "Learning Git Series" with associated challenges for each concept above and beyond "Classic Commitmas"? |
We could rewrite this one as @mjbrender suggested and then link to the 12 On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, Jonathan Frappier [email protected]

I think they can live in the same readme, 1 is for teaching the other is for people to try and do |
If they're in the same repo, how about a readme that points to LESSONS.md On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, Jonathan Frappier [email protected]

I can't speak for Matt, but sounds like there was some confusion RE having challenges associated with the "lessons"/webinars. 9 days in and it hasn't seemed to be a problem unless people are commenting elsewhere. We have webinars each night to help people understand topics, and the challenge to commit everyday is separate. Not sure why this is now a problem |
To frame it - I was discussing commitmas and personally found it confusing. I'll open a PR to address what I found confusing and we can continue the discuss there. Based on this conversation, I'll keep the scope of edits to clarity as opposed to reduction of content. |
I'd like to update the README to reflect this year's project. The text is still reflective on a single challenge track while 2016 is all about per-speaker tracks. I'd like to explain this difference.
PR to follow - feel free to comment if you have improvement ideas as well.
