What is the idea?

MANIFEST.in needs to be fixed to be able to do a pypi release, or we could drop setuptools.

Why is this needed?

MANIFEST.in includes some files that are no longer present (versioneer) and excludes the tests. Instead, it should include everything from git.

What should happen?
