View lobbies while seated in a game #1677
Comments
after a long, hard day of absolutely no thinking, here are the two other mockups that I shall now curse this repository with: my slightly updated proposal after jules said the first one "looked ugly" jules's proposal to reuse the little hitler icon for something the second one puts the hitler icon on the members list to usage altho some tweaking will be required |
Here's another suggestion for UI: Keep the gameroom UI and lobby UI just the same, but in the gameroom UI have two options - leave game and view lobby. Have a tooltip on the "view lobby" button that says that you are still seated in the game and expected to play it if it starts. If you are sitting in a room but viewing the lobby then your seated room is pinned to the top of the list. It also has a different colour / distuinghed appearance and a prominent leave button. Sitting in another game switches your seated position to that room. If a room youre seated in starts, then force redirect from wherever you are (lobby, settings, profile etc) |
Another possible solution to this would be to set a delay on being seated in a room. For example, if I see an open game room, I can Right Click -> Sit; this would not redirect me into the game room but rather keep me in the general lobby. It would show my CB in the room to show that I am seated. However, when the game starts, I am immediately redirected into the room that I am seated in. This way, it allows me to see all the possible open game rooms without being tunnel-visioned in one specific room. It's similar to the previous solutions, I just thought this would be the easiest and most efficient way to do so. |
"Hello I have no clue about coding but I wanted to give you guys a suggestion. Players constantly leave tables to check the other tables in the lobby, hoping they will be closer to filling. This is sort of an annoying quality of life issue. Sometimes you end up losing your spot. Or if you created the table and nobody else has come yet, the table deletes itself when you check the lobby and then you have to make a new one if no other games are starting. I think there should be a small panel on the bottom that shows the tables and lobbies in a minimalistic way -- like just the name of the lobby and the number of seats filled with icons showing the type of lobby (rainbow or no chat etc)" -FreshWeave
