Issues in Liverpool

1. Churchill Way is listed as a potential new route. Unfortunately this section of highway has been removed and wouldn’t be able to accommodate any potential new lengths of cycle route.

2. Queensway tunnel is a private route owned by Merseytravel. What did happen during lockdown was Merseytravel allowing cycles to use the tunnel unrestricted. However, at the start of May the Mersey Ferries resumed between Wallasey and Liverpool. Cycles were told to use that facility instead of the tunnel. This is by far the best route across the water as you don’t need to contend with the various fumes from passing vehicles in a contained area.

3. Rocky Lane is being utilised as a pop up lane so it’s good to see the planning has aligned with what the data has suggested!
