option to default to activated pan/zoom

Hoping this is simple...

in Rstudio/Posit, every time I make a plot, I have to first click on the magnifying glass before I can zoom in and out or drag the plot around the viewer. I make many, many plots every day. It would be a great time and nerve saver if I could set the default option to be activated pan/zoom.
