Unable to open console on mac

Hello! I have the mod installed and I can view it through mod the spire as well as under the mod tab in-game. However, I can't open the console with the default ` key. I've tried rebinding it to different keys but they don't work either. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I know this is a little late, but works fine on my Mac. You may need to give Slay the Spire/Mod the Spire/Java access to Input Monitoring in System Preferences -> Security or something.
