Following the instructions to install in a docker container DOES NOT WORK.

In particular, dependencies cannot be installed on the suggested image.

Wouldn't it be more reasonable to provide an image that ALREADY INCLUDED A DEPLOYED INSTANCE OF THE TOOLKIT?

Hi @MattBrauer ,
This instructions are meant for developers to quickly build a working version of dx-toolkit from source code in a separate environment than is your system.

If you don't intend to play with the source code you can install the dx-toolkit from pip:
pip install dxpy

With that said you can still build the dx-toolkit this way, just make sure to clone this repo before the first step.
git clone [email protected]:dnanexus/dx-toolkit.git
