Gathering some of the contract customization features we're planning on working for .NET 8. NB this list is subject to change.

Object initialization

• JSON needs object initializer equivalent APIs #73219
• Support modifying already initialized properties and fields when deserializing JSON #78556
• Add support for parameterized constructors in System.Text.Json contract customization (converters) #71944

Contract configuration

• System.Text.Json default contract resolvers fail early on misconfigured attributes #71966
• Add support for MissingMemberHandling to System.Text.Json #37483
• Expose ElementType and KeyType on JsonTypeInfo metadata. #77306
• Add snake_case support for System.Text.Json #782

Future

• System.Text.Json serialization callbacks not supported by collection types #71945
• System.Text.Json : Consider supporting F# discriminated unions #55744
