Until we have step-by-step guides there are examples that might be useful.

The example can be found here for xSQLServer; https://github.com/PowerShell/xSQLServer/tree/dev/Examples
And for xSqlPS (one sample); https://github.com/PowerShell/xSqlPs/tree/dev/Samples

I think we should bring any resources/functionality from xSqlPs module to xSQLServer that are not yet in xSQLServer. Then deprecate xSqlPs.
