With the introduction of ggl.link I got inspired to dig out my old advise on link extensions for Google Documents of all types. A few of these link extensions allow for different kind of renderings of a document.

Because many people regularly use short links for Google Docs but don't know about these tricks I thought that enabling the user of Dub to learn about these extensions and create a better user experience for link recipients i'd love to surface a few options for link transformation in the link creation modal.

When a google docs link is pasted ask if this link should be used as a template, downloaded as pdf or docx, or simply create a copy of the file in the recipients google drive.

I imagine the modal to be similar to the UTM modal.
