Describe the feature: If you have a high number of selected items in the discovery view, such that you have to scroll to the right to see them all. Then one of the usability issues is that you loose sight of the other columns. Even the "Time" field scrolls off screen.

OK you can reorder the columns, but this is quite a laborious process given they only move a single column at a time . Also you could do this by export/import of the JSON.

An alternative would be maybe:

[1] allow the user to move a column a number of columns to the right/left. Or all the way to the right/left.
[2] Maybe add a "pin" facility so that a selected column can be pinned to the left of the screen and removed from the horizontal scrolling so that it is always viewed? Kind of like freezing panes in excel.

Many thanks

Ed

Agree this covers [1]

But not [2] ... One example of where this is useful is if you are trying to expand/collapse the record in the discoverytable using the small black arrow to the far left. If you are scrolled to the right, to expand/collapse you first have to scroll all the way to the left and then back to the data you were viewing. Or more likely trying to view the "Time" column at the same time as a selected field column when scrolled to the right so that "Time" is no longer visible. You have to constantly scroll back and forth . Solutions are re-order the columns , which we know is a little clunky via the GUI. Or provide a way to freeze a column to the far left?

Let's also implement this for scrolling down when the row header becomes missing :)
