This issue should be addressed by converting the Calendar management pages to EUI / React, and using the EUI toast for example to report errors.

This issue has been addressed with the conversion of Calendar management pages to EUI / React (#26741). As we are now using Eui Form controls, errors are read by the screen reader. Going to close this one off!
