It just took ~30s for my vector to realise that it was offline and show the 'You are offline' warning', although once it had done that it came back in ~10s

this is really painful and reproduceable :(

relatedly: if you send messages during the initial 30s they can be seen as sent correctly, but there's some scenario where you don't see the remote echos, so they end up stuck forever at the bottom of the timeline

setting as release blocker, as bad things seem to happen if you try to use the app when it's stuck in this state - e.g. #1306
