Editing a /me action ruins the action by converting it to a text message #19515

Steps to reproduce

  1. Type in /me is te-sting.
  2. Press up arrow, intending to edit the action.
  3. You're offered is te-sting in a text field.
  4. Correct to is testing.

Outcome

What did you expect?

That the result will remain an action, now displaying the corrected text * dkasak is testing.

What happened instead?

The action was converted to an ordinary message with the content is testing.

@dkasak can you please specify the application version? This should have been fixed recently. matrix-org/matrix-react-sdk#6931

@dkasak We can't reproduce the issue so I'm going to close this issue for now. Please re-open after updating the original issue with URL and application version if you are still seeing the problem.

It does work in Element Desktop 1.9.3, so all good. I must had been on an earlier version when I reproduced. Sorry for omitting the version, I was in a hurry and must have forgotten.
