Steps to reproduce
Possibly hallucinated:
I cross signed a new Desktop login with my Android phone at login (using emoji; qr code didn't seem to be offered). I believe I said that the emoji matched on both platforms, but the UX told me (very alarmingly) that the verification had failed.
Definitely occurred repeatably:
I then went into Security and Privacy on Desktop and tried to verify the current device - completed the flow successfully between Desktop and Android, but the new Desktop session was not marked as verified afterwards. Closing and opening the device mgmt UX still showed the new device being unverified.
