I have not seen this used in epi applications, but from my searching of common survival analysis distributions it seems quite a common choice (see linked wiki page).
My current thinking is that any parametric distribution with an exact mean value as a function of the parameters can be done analytically, but I haven't done that yet for this example.

Yes I agree this would be useful. Do you think we need a meta issue to track distribution requests (and maybe prioritise). I think before any maths goes in for this we need to split the analytical solutions out of the currrent why it works vignette
