Long-awaited notable announcements from the libp2p community 🎉

• go-libp2p abstractions and core types are being consolidated into a single repo: go-libp2p-core.

  • check out how it's shaping up under the consolidate-skeleton branch of go-libp2p-core.
  • discussion:
    • top-level issue: Consolidate libp2p abstractions and core types libp2p/go-libp2p#602 (read to understand why this is important and how we're approaching it).

  • roadmap:
    • iteration 1 (underway): absorb types, reorg source, perform renames for clarity, alias at origin for backwards-compatibility.

discv5 development update:

• The spec is 95% done.
• Go implementation is WIP but most things work already.

Please check out the spec if interested and raise issues on the devp2p tracker. See the Discovery v5 milestone for remaining issues.
