Control Icons not showing

I get the 4 control icons in VSCode preview
but after export to HTML I just have 4 outlined squares
Clicking each square works, but the colours are just squares, as are the up down arrows.

a workaround is to copy orgiginal woff2-files AFTER EACH export to the target.
e.g.

wget https://github.com/components/font-awesome/raw/master/webfonts/fa-regular-400.woff2
wget https://github.com/components/font-awesome/raw/master/webfonts/fa-solid-900.woff2

cp   fa-regular-400.woff2 fa-solid-900.woff2 ./export/libs/reveal.js/4.3.1/plugin/menu/font-awesome/webfonts/

Yes, and the font awesome files. A full list is in the js console in the browser
