Allow a user to select several metadata and do a "special" search which which will display all the metadata with icons indicating the validation status.

The schematron names and validation status will be displayed.

From Jose:

Hi Jesse

Looks a nice feature. Some comments:

  • About displaying the validation status in search results, I like option 2, maybe the validation results should be only displayed only to logged users, so public users will see results as now, as not sure if this validation is relevant to these users.

Also can be useful anyway to allow in the system configuration to enable/disable the complete feature.

  • Related to this:

This proposed change would allow a user to select several metadata and then do a "special" search which displays the selected metadata in the search view with the validation status of each schematron file in each search result.

For the search filter, I just would use a similar approach as in first comment: for logged users display a panel in the search with the validation filters to apply. Depending on the filter, the results will display the metadata that fits that criteria. This will remove the need to select first any records and for me looks more clear.

not the status of the various "types" of validations

Depends on the template, it should display them in a tooltip usually. See screenshot from the doc:

The dump fields in config-lucene.xml

they should be available already.

I agree with Jose to display the info only for identified user (as it's now) and having a toggle to display them or not (and in the settings, define if it should be toggled on or off by default).

For the search filter, having a facet on validation status (for identified user) could be better than the search criteria filter.

"identified user" should probably not be for registered user and only editor/reviewer/admin.

Is this done? Is this rejected? What happened to this? Because it was a year ago...
