Support of markdown in the catalog list

I would like to request adding the support of markdown in the list of the main page

Definitely, although we might not be able to show the full formatting here; maybe stripping markdown tags would be enough, or at least only apply a simple formatting?

Is is an exctract of the abstract maybe only bold, italic and highlighted will be enough

IIRC we strip the abstract of all html tags before showing it. Keeping only bold/italic markup would be doable but would it really bring value compared to simply stripping markdown tags as well?

It seems easier to skip it
