Use multisig wallet as an owner of another multisig

Hi,

Is it possible to have a multisig owned by 2 others multisig ?

Multisig

• ownerA
• ownerB

OwnerA is a multisig owned by :

• owner C
• owner D

OwnerB is a multisig owned by :

• owner E
• owner F

The idea is to have 2 parties agreeing on something without letting just one party able to execute a transaction.

I think it's possible, but it's also seems that there's no UI for that. And If I need to rebuilt an global UI to manage this, it's seems, so complex.

If you are aware of something that can handle my use case, please let me know !

Hi @gnarco that's for sure possible

At Gnosis there are many Multisig's owned by other multisigs.

The interface it's general enough to interact with those setups but it's tech-oriented, you need to use the ABI to interact with the other Multisig's, so in order to confirm/propose transactions you would need to:

1. Add Multisig Tx with
2. to: (the main Multisig address)
3. value: 0
4. ABI string, use the one attached below:

5. Select the function submitTransaction(for proposing a tx) or confimTransaction for confirming. The caveat here is that for submitTransaction you need to pass the data of the main multisig transaction, that might be a bit tricky to get. I would recommend you to have at least one owner in the main multisig with regular wallet (Ledger, trezor, metamask...) so it makes that part easier

As a final note, I would recommend you to use https://gnosis-safe.io/ instead of this multisig (gas costs would be much lower) the only problem is that a Safe owned by other safes can be a bit challenging compared to what I explained above, but I'm sure the team will be happy to assist you
