Historically ibus-mozc has enabled undo-commit feature even when IBUS_CAP_SURROUNDING_TEXT capability bit is not set. This was indeed intentional, because most of applications which accept ibus_engine_delete_surrounding_text did not set IBUS_CAP_SURROUNDING_TEXT when I tested it on Ubuntu 11.10.

Having said that, ideally we should check IBUS_CAP_SURROUNDING_TEXT before we deprecate ibus-mozc as #287 so that future ibus-mozc maintainers will not be bothered by issues like #228.
