Is this still being maintained? #30

I don't think so. |
I feel also very awful. According the following wiki page https://wiki.haskell.org/Taking_over_a_package we can try to contact @bos and find a volunteer to maintain this package on Hackage. If it doesn't work, then the Hackage administrators can grant the maintainship. So, is anyone here willing to maintain this package? |
@bos had his last activity in August 2017 so it is unlikely something will happen here suddenly. I emailed to |
This package was moved to the Haskell github recently (as in, last month) in order to make it easier to find maintainers for a bunch of Bos' libraries. Currently, it should be considered unmaintained, and any one who volunteers to pick it up is greatly appreciated. @bgamari |
Viktor Dukhovni and me volunteered. https://mail.haskell.org/pipermail/libraries/2021-January/031118.html |
Would you be interested in automating the installation (and compilation) of the texticu C library? |
Er, I see, maybe I am not a good fit for this maintainer job. I know C but am not really fluent, use it only once very couple of years... |
Well, please don't say that! 😟 build automation is just a part of the pain. Making this project work is ofc a more critical need to do. |
If no one objects, I would like to become a maintainer of the I'm already maintaining bindings to another important C library — |
Closing, since I now maintain text-icu. |
I see open PRs with no comments, the last commit is from 2015, and the version on Hackage isn't even the latest version in this repo.
I think this is a fairly important library, so if @bos doesn't want to maintain it anymore, perhaps we should try to find someone to take over?
