Backbone Implementation

Backbone features can be more fully implemented with a resulting simplification of the JS code. In addition Backbone itself can be upgraded to incorporate relational database features for associations. This issue includes the following subissues

• Refactor models to utilize Backbone.model methods
• Implement Backbone.sync based AJAX synchronization
• Fully implement Backbone's Events on change
• Implement Backbone-relational to add support for associations
• Insure model synchronization is consistent with GSON objects (see issue Entities are too tightly bound to serializing methods used by outer layers #231)
