The problem I had was when I was adding an indie-published book, so the author is not presented in Wikidata. The book is Belarusian, so I'd add author's names in Belarusian and English (and the book has her name in both variants), but I was able to add only one.
PS I tried it now and I see that I actually can add another name for the author, but it is kinda hidden: to do that I need to click on the locale select and select another locale, and then the current author name goes down with the previously selected locale. It is confusing, I expect to see a separate button to add a name in another locale.
And I still can not add their name in Belarusian, because it is not presented in the list (but Belarusian is presented in "Languages spoken, written or signed" field).
Since many of books are being issued in different languages, it could be hard to find an author if their name stored in just one language.
Could be great to have ability to add alternative transliterations of authors name to the author's card and use it in the search.
