Footnotes not shown in printing or on html

Hi there.
I am using :

• debian 11
• darkslide 5.1
• python 3.11

I have my custom theme that I have created, mostly based on theme white from the package on debian 11.
The main issue is that I do not get footnote on the html or on the print

I need to see your theme somewhere, cause it's hard to say what is missing there. You might have some broken html, or some missing css, who knows. Ideally you'd give me a complete reproducer.
