Some notes:

the web is open because these orgs defended the openness and acted as agents for the users. along the way they tackled some hard technical problems. VR and blockchain spaces both need that open web voice.

Defining terms
Is the web "html+dynamic interaction", or is the web something bigger? Is bitcoin part of the web?

Compelling topic: identity -- whoever controls identity becomes very powerful. it should be done in open ways -- open as in open web
