Kpsu.org installation
----------------------
KPSU - Portland's College Radio

Requirements:
-------------
* Ruby 1.8.7, 1.9.2, or 1.9.3
* Rubygems
* Bundler >= 1.0.21
* MySQL (tested on 5.6.10)
* ImageMagick
* Git
* config directory and SQL database (available to KPSU affiliates on request - email admin at kpsu dot org)
Installation:
-------------
1. Git clone the repo ([email protected]:KPSU/kpsu.org.git)
2. Transfer the config directory and kpsu_db_sample.dump (not included) into the application directory.
3. Start the MySQL server with "mysql.server start" or equivalent command.
4. Create an empty mysql utf8 encoded database "kpsu_development", "kpsu_production", or some such name.
5. Fill out the config/database.yml file with the appropriate database name, user, password, socket, etc.
6. Bundle install in the app directory to install the gems.
7. Run "rake db:migrate" in the app directory to create your database structure.
8. Set permissions to 777 for tmp, log, and public directories.
9. Populate the MySQL database (kpsu_development, kpsu_production, whatever you named it):
mysql -u root -p database_name < kpsu_db_sample.dump
10. Run "rake archive:update" to populate the database with the current podcasts from Amazon
11. To your crontab (run "sudo crontab -e") add the following line (filling out /path/to/kpsu.org):
5 * * * * /bin/bash -l -c 'cd /path/to/kpsu.org && RAILS_ENV=production bundle exec rake archive:update --silent'
12. If you don't have a web server installed (such as Apache), test the application using the WEBrick server:
ruby script/rails server -e production
13. The admin email is "[email protected]" and the password is 'admin'
