Please ensure you have read the server overview
After installing Jamulus you will find an entry for "Jamulus server" in the Windows start menu, or in Applications on Mac (assuming you put the files from the install there as per these instructions).
When starting the server, type in the name, city and country so that other users can easily identify you. As of Jamulus v3.5.4, you can also specify a musical genre for it if you wish so that it will appear in the relevant server list on the client (see more details on Central Servers).
-
If you want the server to be started automatically on system start, enable the corresponding check box.
-
If you want to run a client on the same machine you should connect the client to
127.0.0.1
for best performance. (Similarly, if you want to connect a client on another machine your LAN, use the server's LAN IP address.)
