dnspython is the only resolver used atm, but it would be a good idea to support other resolvers, and possibly even fallback to using socket resolver.

Just my 2 cents: I like DNSLib more, but seems that DNSPython is more actual/current and actually actively updated. Py3DNS is on my agenda (but seems to be stale too). The whole EDNS and ENDS Options is weak in all libraries and is becoming a thing now with all the (hybrid) cloud and appsDNs becoming more relevant.
