Freestyle jobs

Is there anyway to use this plugin in a Freestyle/Multi-Configuration Job?

We don't use pipelines, due to a complex build setup, so we use Multi-Config (Matrix) jobs, which are effectively Freestyle Jobs.

Whilst there is a post build action to send data to jira, it doesn't work, giving the error "Not a WorkflowRun, onCompleted() won't be propagated to listeners"

From some Googling, it looks like this plugin only works with pipelines?
