How do I confirm authenticated identity, when using access/identity token?

I happen upon the situation, not infrequently, where I have a token being used in some automation, and I want to confirm the identity of the token. This is probably more of a general Artifactory API question rather than a CLI question, but this situation is typically found when I have a workflow scripted with the CLI and running in a pipeline-like context. I would like to be able to make an API call that returns information on the authenticated user. For example, GitLab's user API. In contrast the JFrog platform API for single user details and verify connection requires an admin user. The system ping API doesn't include that info.
