I noticed there are no contributing instructions.

Would it be worth adding some basics (installation/building/linting expectations, etc)?

Yes, we should have a contrib file. If no one else adds it, I will add it once I have some time.

Thanks for pointing it out @krassowski! I did not realize we didn't have it.
