As last commit was March 22nd, 2022:

This is node release schedule from around that time:

It seems like node v16 LTS will be best option to use when working in this project.

If it doesn't work with node 16, I guess I'll find out shortly :)

There's like no dependencies on this project. I think I ran the test suite with the latest 16.x and it passed. Therefore, 16.x seems to be good.
