Placeholder ticket to remind me that we'll probably need to make some changes following outcomes of #2281. Details will be filled out more in future depending on what the conclusion of the research is...

  • maybe deprecation warnings
  • maybe remove session._setup_logging
  • maybe remove logs folder and direct file log to project root
  • remove error.log
  • simplify LOGGING = _ProjectLogging() as much as possible
  • make sure PACKAGE_NAME: {"level": "INFO"} complication mentioned in Consider removing support for project-side logging.yml #2281 is handled
  • update docs
