Question about permissions (specially screen recording)

Hi,

I've installed your app and have been recommending it to people as well whenever I get the chance.

Recently on Reddit, I suggested your app, and one guy brought up a point about the permissions the app needs.

One of the permissions is to record screen, and I quote:

I’m a little skeeved at the “needs permission to record screen”

There’s nothing malicious? Like it’s not going to send my login info anywhere?

Can you please address the concern (which honestly became my concern as well)

Just wanted to say: my question wasn't meant to somehow imply anything bad, and, as I said in my question: I love the app you created, and I've been recommending it to everyone whenever I get a chance.

Thank you for creating this and making it open-source (which I must admist is rare in Mac when the app is actually decent).

@lwouis , one suggestion:

Maybe the window "screenshot" feature could be opt-in so that if people are concerned with the screen recording permission can disable it

And maybe there would be another way to get the titles without using this permission

You're describing a system exploit. If an app can do something that the OS protect with a permission, without asking the permission, then the app has defeated the OS security.

So no there is no other way than to get the user to give the permission, as is intended by macOS.
